Okonomiyaki Recipe

If you are looking for the perfect Japanese menu for your supper time, I would like to let you know about okonomiyaki recipe. It is basically a pan fried pancake filled with various ingredients including veggies and seafood. Cabbage is the main ingredient. For the filling, it depends on your personal taste and your style. Since the Okonomi means “favorite” in Japanese, it means that you can add your favorite ingredients in this pancake. Hiroshima okonomiyaki style is the most delicious dish. I think you can start to make it right now since the recipe is very easy to do.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup of flour
- dashi soup (or chicken stock)
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups finely chopped cabbage
- sliced pork/beef/chicken (whatever you want)
- yakisoba noodles (cooked)
- okonomiyaki sauce

Prepare your hot pan. Add flour and dashi soup stock in the bowl to make the batter. Mix them all. Spread the batter on the pan. Make it round. Place one handful of finely chopped cabbage on the top of the pancake. Place slice of meats on the top of cabbage. Pour the rest of batter over the ingredients. Finely flip over the pancake with spatula. Replace the okonomiyaki with spatulas on top of yakisoba noodles. Fry an egg and place it on the top. Last but not least, spread the okonomiyaki sauce on the okonomiyaki. You could also add mayonnaise to enrich the taste. If you want to, sprinkle dried bonito flakes and dried seaweed powder on the top. Here it is!
